Saskatchewan Foster Families Association Inc. are currently looking for a Childcare Support Worker to join our team in Prince Albert, SK. This part-time position requires a commitment of 12-25 hours per week.
As a Childcare Support Worker, your primary responsibility will be to provide direct assistance to Caregivers in meeting the daily needs of the children or youth placed in their homes. Under the direct supervision of the Caregiver or their designate, you will assist with childcare duties and general housekeeping tasks.


Responsibilities:

Supervise and ensure the safety of children and youth under your care.
Assist with meal preparation and snack organization.
Help children with their daily routines, including eating, resting, hygiene, and bathroom use.
Attend to diaper changes for infants and toddlers as needed.
Organize and participate in recreational activities, such as outdoor play or structured developmental tasks.
Provide support and guidance to children with their homework.
Foster the emotional and social development of children and youth.
Carry out housekeeping duties like laundry, dishwashing, and general cleaning to maintain a clean household environment.
Sanitize toys and play equipment regularly.
Accompany children to school, appointments, or outings as requested and agreed upon with the SFFA Program Coordinator and the Foster Parent or Caregiver.
Identify any signs of emotional or developmental challenges in the children and discuss them with the Foster Parent or Caregiver.

Experience:

Must be 18 years of age or older.
1 year of relevant childcare experience, in addition to education.
A Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check, is required.
Must possess a valid Driver's License.
Preferred job experience in daycare or as an educational assistant.
