Description
The Child Minding Coordinator will report to the Language Program Manager and will have the responsibility of developing and implementing the Evening Child Minding Program. The main focus of this role is to provide high-quality care to the children in the program, prioritizing their health and safety.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all requirements of the child minding program.
- Plan and organize activities in line with the program's philosophy for children.
- Create a welcoming and interactive environment for newcomer children and their parents.
- Provide activities and experiences that cater to the individual developmental needs of the children.
- Maintain accurate records and reports as necessary.
- Regularly inspect the program space to identify and address any safety concerns.
- Supervise and oversee other program staff and volunteers, if applicable.
- Perform end-of-shift cleaning and sanitization duties.
Qualifications
- Preferred ECE Level 2 qualification, but consideration will be given to equivalent combinations of education and experience.
- Possess a valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Must pass a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check.
- Demonstrate an understanding and awareness of settlement issues and the specific concerns of newcomers.
- Knowledge of the programming needs of children who are in care for short periods of time.
